Carmen

My name is Carmen Rappold-Humm. I was born on March 27, 1972 and am the proud mother of 3 daughters. We live with our dogs in Fällanden.

Growing up in the Zurich Oberland, I was surrounded by dogs from an early age.

My grandparents, with whom I grew up, owned a large carpentry business and the dogs were used as 'guards' on the premises. After that, we first had a Labrador in our own family and then a husky mix from the animal shelter. In addition to dogs, I also had a great passion for equestrian sports - the dogs were of course always with me in the stables, at competitions or on rides in the forest.

I completed a commercial apprenticeship after school and worked in various sectors over the years - most recently in marketing/sales at a catering company. My dogs were looked after by Pascal Schmid, my current partner, during my working hours. But my biggest dream has always been to work with dogs and to spend more time in nature.

Soon my dream came true! I quit my job in 2009 and have been working with Pascal and our gang of dogs ever since. I have never been so happy and surrounded by positive energy in my whole life. It's simply my dream job. In 2014 I founded 4yourdogs and we are now a partner company.

Since January 2011, I have been training at the Academy for Animal Naturopathy in the field of dog psychology, specializing in dog behaviour counselling. In 2012, I attended a barking seminar and various animal communication courses with Carole Federspiel, Rorschach.

In 2013, I completed the specialized, non-professional training for caregivers at Anydog. I am a certified pet sitter (specializing in dogs).

I would like to make one more point:

Every living being in this world has its place, its justification. The animal, the dog, has been given an even higher status, but on a completely different level to humans. We can walk the path together. Each in his own place, each on his own level. I cannot be a dog/wolf, just as the dog is not a person. For humans and dogs to be able to walk the path together, the human must take the lead. Consistently, uncompromisingly and with love! Then they will walk the path together to the end.

We are enthusiastic about our Continental Bulldogs and have been official SKG breeders of this great breed since 2016.
