BRIEF HISTORICAL SUMMARY: The aim was to create a medium-sized Bulldog. However, the crosses with English Bulldogs and Old English Bulldogs soon showed that the program ultimately led to the creation of a new breed that was close to the original type of Bulldog. The name "Continental Bulldog" was chosen for the new breed in order to clearly distinguish it from the English Bulldog.

GENERAL APPEARANCE: A short-haired, athletically built, medium-sized, almost square, bulldog-like dog. Despite its strong build, the Continental Bulldog is agile and enduring, and is said to breathe silently even at a fast trot or gallop. Its weight is approximately between 20 - 30 kg depending on its size. Males and females should have clear sexual characteristics.

IMPORTANT PROPORTIONS:

Height at withers: Height at withers: Height at withers:

Chest depth 2:1 Body length 1:1.2 Length from withers to base of tail 1:1

These measurements and proportions are to be understood as guidelines, the overall impression of a dog is always decisive, the Bulldog type must be preserved.
